Pentagon to Test Revolutionary ‘Speed of Dark’ Weapon

Shaft of Black Light May Soon Pierce New Mexico Desert Sky

Civilian experts who monitor Department of Defense research programs say that the first tests of a prototype “speed of dark” weapon could begin in New Mexico as early as next week.

Little is known about the super-secret speed of dark weapon, although it is generally assumed it would project some kind of high-energy invisible beam that might be able to vaporize aircraft or even satellites in low Earth orbits.

Some weapons experts have even suggested a powerful speed of dark beam could be fired from a weapon small enough for a soldier to hold in his arms.

“All the jungle drums I’m hearing point to a test of a prototype beam generator in the next week or two, probably at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico,” said Dr. Newfield Conzaga, a professor of physics at North Central Cincinnati University. He is widely credited with first raising the theoretical possibility of a speed of dark weapon.

Despite widespread speculation about the possibilities of such a weapon, the Pentagon has never acknowledged any research into the speed of dark. However, civilian scientists who advise the Pentagon have said in the past that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld is keenly interested in the idea.

In an article published two years ago, Conzaga theorized that the speed of dark represents a parallel universe and that just as light can produce powerful lasers, dark could be harnessed to produce even more powerful beams of dark energy.

Conzaga’s article caught the fancy of members of the Pentagon’s elite Doomsday Minus One Committee, who brought it to Rumsfeld’s attention. Conzaga later claimed that Government officials pressed him not to speculate publicly about speed of dark weapons or discuss them in his graduate seminars.

An aide to New Mexico governor Bill Richardson, who was the secretary of energy in the Clinton Administration, confirmed that they, too, had heard unofficial reports of an impending speed of dark test at the missile range in southeastern New Mexico.

“We welcome this with open arms,” the aide said. “The Governor would love to have New Mexico become the speed of dark capital of the world. We can use the jobs.”
